Tomorrow is his big day

It's so hard to believe that our little Daniel will be starting preschool tomorrow. He and I went there today and got him registered. I want to be able to focus on him tomorrow and not have to worry about anything else. We got there as school was letting out and I am really glad that we did. They are so organized there! It really gave me a sense of calm with Daniel going there. I remember when I went to school that when school let out at the end of the day it was chaos. Not there.  There the children line up with their class by the parking lot and the parents/guardians drive up, the teacher walks each child to their car and even buckles them into their car seat. Although Daniel won't be there that late in the day it still gave me such a sense that they really take good care of your children while they are there in school. Maybe all schools do this now a days. I don't know, but I really like it! It's sometimes the small things that can make such a big impression. 

I have to admit though I did get a little teary eyed today just driving up to the school to get him registered. I know he is a little nervous about tomorrow, but I think he is excited too. He sure looks happy in the photo I took of him right outside the entrance. He keeps asking me if I am going to stay with him. He wants me to and I plan on it for as long or as many days as he "needs" me to.  

Here is his tote bag. They use totes instead of backpacks- easier for the kiddos and teachers at this stage. I sewed him the little pocket with his pic, so that he will be able to find his tote more easily among the others. But mostly I just want him to have something special for his first day. Not that I think any of his little mates will be sporting a likewise groovy hexagon patterned tote.  

And here is the door that leads to where I hope Daniel is going to have a fabulous morning tomorrow! Well I'd best be off to of course get my camera bag ready for Daniel's big day! :) I hope it's a great day for him.
