New wheels 2 wheels

Laney graduated to a bigger bike this week. Her old one had a hole in the tire so, I suggested we get her a new one. One more appropriately sized for her. She grew a ton this past year and really was a little long for the old one. She had fun picking out just the right new one. One with the perfect accessories: bell, basket, and water bottle. Jesse and I joked about how the right bike was all about the trimmings, well as far as Laney was concerned.

Doesn't she look cute on her new wheels.

Later I had the idea that we should get a new tire for the old bike, so that if the kids wanted to they could practice riding without training wheels, on a much shorter bike. They were totally up for it! Jesse came into the house two days ago and said to me "Grab your camera! You've got to see this!" They each took turns riding while I snapped away. They were so giddy with excitement. Ahh! They are just so darn cute!

Look at 'em go.

They are still a bit wobbly, and there have been some skinned knees and elbows, but they keep smiling and getting back on. I'm so proud of them. Not so much for riding with two wheels, but for getting back on the bike and enthusiastically trying after each fall. Oh the lessons I can learn from them.
