We had an appointment with a professional photographer to have passport photos taken. Well, that very morning it was raining and muggy, and let me tell you my hair was an out of control huge frizzy puff. It didn't matter how much "product" I used my hair was in control and it insisted on remaining both frizzy and puffy. I didn't think twice about it- I cancelled that appointment! No way was my passport photo going to look like that for the next 10 years. Oh, sure the photographer wasn't happy. I don't blame her, I wouldn't have been happy either to have someone cancel last minute, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.
She refused to see us again until late October. We needed the photos for our passports, but also for our adoption agency. They require 6 passport photos each to accompany our dossier. Desperate to get those photos taken we stopped at Sears one day. We didn't bother to coordinate our clothes, Daniel had washable marker all over his hands, because he had been coloring prior to our appointment and of course it wouldn't wash off.
No worries, we weren't planning on having any other photos taken. Well for whatever reason Daniel (OK, maybe just maybe it is because I constantly have a camera around my neck and snap photos often ;) ), was a little poser and absolutely loved having his photo taken. The photographer ended up snapping some quick pics of Daniel as well as one with all of us. I really loved how they came out! So, who knew that a pop in visit to Sears would end in a family photo that has become an UNEXPECTED TREASURE?
I created the above lo for the scrapbook and I actually like how it turned out. I have been in a scrap funk with no creativity or inspiration what so ever! I haven't been too pleased with any of my recent los, but this one came together with ease. It looks awful in the above photo, but actually looks nice IRL. I can hardly wait now to scrap the individuals of Daniel! Those are super cute and in color- I just love that he has the washable marker on his hands, because that is so "DANIEL". But, that will have to wait for another time.
