After being on call the previous weekend Jesse had Wednesday off. We decided it was a great day to get some things done outside. Daniel was my little helper. We planted tulips and daffodils in red, yellow and white. Daniel's job was putting the bulbs into the holes after I punched them out. He got such a kick out of helping. Sometimes planting bulbs can get tedious, but with such an enthusiastic and charming little helper it was just fun!

And, now it's not even winter and I am already looking forward to spring! I can't wait for Daniel to see the fruits of his labor. I don't of course think he will remember planting them, but at least he can see these pics. We planted about 200 bulbs and will plant about another 500 this weekend.

While we planted bulbs Jesse worked on the play set. It is really starting to take shape. Daniel was so funny looking over happily yelling "PLAYHOUSE!PLAYHOUSE!" across the yard and "Daddy working!" with a huge grin.

For a break we decided to try out a new trail and it was great! It had a pretty stream running through. Daniel was mesmerised by the view as you can see. It was gorgeous with the vibrant Autumn colors as a back drop. I just wish I knew what he was thinking. He was so intently looking out at the water and the trees, and it's such a rarity for him just to stop and take it all in...

But before long Daniel was ready for some action! He had fun running, climbing and of course finding the usual treasures; rocks, pine cones, and leaves. And it all adds up to a wonderful fall day of working and playing together. We are blessed to have these precious days together as a family. These simple moments are what I treasure
