Klackle's Orchard
Well, Jesse surprised me Sunday, by saying he wanted to drive to Grand Rapids on Monday to do some shopping. <---- WHAT?!!! Did I hear you correct? You want to go shopping and you want to go all the way to GR to do it! YEEHA!!!! I'm thinking if we are going to GR we may as well go to Klacle's Orachard. YES! Jesse is in agreement!
Klackle's all began with Daniel for us. Looking for a great pumpkin patch to take some pics of Daniel when he was 6 months old, we learned about Klackle's. And, it easily became a fall must for us. Before Daniel we used to just pick up our pumpkins at the grocery store for carving and baking pumpkin seeds. Now we wouldn't even consider doing that!
The first year we just walked around looking at all the beautiful crafts, and activities, tried some yummy candied apples, and got some sweet fall photos of Daniel. last year we got more great photos, bought some crafts, had the candied apples, and opted for buying the packaged apples instead of picking (it was windy and cold that day). This year the weather was perfect! But due to my braces we stayed away from all the yummy varieties of candied apples. We zeroed in on the many varieties of pumpkin donuts (so bad and so good!)--YUMMO!
Daniel is 2 1/2 now so we went from one fun activity to the next. Daniel fed a calf, a lama, and some sheep and goats. next we were off on an enchanted pumpkin ride out to the pumpkin patch where we took what has become our traditional Klackle's pumpkin patch photos. Next, we picked apples in the orchard (a total favorite of mine- which I couldn't partake in due to my braces- oh the torture! But Daniel was MUNCH!MUNCH!MUNCHING away!) From the trees to the tractors we went and Daniel insisted on riding one in each color. Then came the one thing that could rival Daniel's love for those apples-- a huge sand pit filled with TRUCKS!!! OH the JOY!!! Trucks to roll, push and play with and sand to get dirty in :) He played for a good long time, before we decided we had better get a move on if we were going to make it to GR for shopping. We stopped on the way out for a few more photo ops and that was that- the end of another way fun fall day at klackle's. I was thrilled when as we were walking out Jesse said he was looking forward to coming back next when our daughter will be with us! LIFE IS GOOD :)
