Do you ever just wish...

...that you could slow down time? I never thought I'd feel this way until I became a mom. Before Mommy Time (BMT), life seemed to go at a normal and sometimes even agonizingly slow pace, now if I could only push that magic button, wave that magic wand and slow the clock, even just a little bit. Sure life is messy and noisy and there are usually toys on my living room floor, some crying, and some tantrums.  There is even the occasional not making it to the potty in time, the he's not-she's not sharing, smashed bananas on the kitchen floor, writing on the walls, the dog, and the furniture. But there are so many more laughs, and giggles, silliness, and sharing, and singing(albeit out of key), and joy, and love, that I do--- I long for that magic button!

We can hardly believe that Daniel is almost 4, but he is, and so we are looking into preschools. I'm not ready to let him go and he doesn't want to go, but Jesse and I are pretty sure this next fall is the right time. It would be a good transition before kindergarten. We visited one preschool last spring. Daniel didn't like it at all to put it mildly. He said it was scary and he was staying home with mommy. Jesse and I weren't too impressed either, so the search is on again. I just know there is a good preschool program out there. The plan is for Daniel and Elena to have this year to bond as siblings (which they are doing beautifully) for Daniel to attend preschool this coming fall, giving him a transition into kindergarten, and Elena a year of one on one time with me before she begins preschool the year after. Now to just motivate myself to pick up the phone and start dialing. Time slows for no man, or mommy, so tomorrows the day.

****Note to self: continue to savor every moment of mommyhood, even the messy ones, no, especially the messy ones! They make for some of the best memories and stories. And, always remember to reflect each night on what you can do better tomorrow...

today's tidbits- I have never seen Elena so excited for Kindermusic! As soon as we got there she pulled her class project out of her backpack and proudly showed it to everyone! She usually sticks real close to Daniel, so it was a wonderful surprise to see her like this. And, mid way through class Daniel broke out in a major nose bleed! He has never had one like that before and he was so brave. I'm pretty sure I was more nervous than he was. I think he really enjoyed having everyone make a huge fuss over him-especially the girls! He was fine after a while and insisted on joining the others for the rest of the class. With a new humidifier today hopefully the nose bleed will be a one time deal.

photo 7- not a lot of time for photo taking today. one of these will be my pick for the day.
